PROJECT START/END

July 2011 / December 2014

DESCRIPTION

The global objective of the Project is to develop new services focused on the production of cartographies of reduced areas and on aplications requiring a high degree of space and time accuracy. The Project  specifically addresses the following targets:

  • Precision Viticulture: The objective is to cartography and evaluate the degree of development of the crop, to detect stress problems and to assess the bilological and physical parameters directly related to the quality of the fruits.
  • Ortophoto of high accuracy (1 pixel = 1 cm) of the artistic heritage, in order to manage it and contribute to its wide awareness.

To overcome the current cartography accuracy limitations, both spatial and time related, the Project is based on the use of aerial unmaned (UAS) and maned systems (planes) for image adquisition. These systems have two main features that make feasible to overcome the above mentioned barrier:

  • Flight altitude control, leading to a high and detailed spatial resolution.
  • High flexibility when planning the flights over a given area, achieving an strong time resolution according to the real needs.

The Consortia that is developing the Project includes the public company TRACASA, taht gathers a high expertise in teledetection and land information exploitation, the Department of Projects and Rural Engineering of the Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA) as a research center that involves researches experts in teledetection technologies and the Mechatronics Area of AIN, as a private Technological Institute, expert in the development of UNMANED aerial applications.

ACTIVITY DEVELOPED BY AINTECH

  • Adaptation of the UNMANED technology experience to get images of vineyards and heritage items.
  • Cameras and sensors calibration to be used in the above mentiones applications.
